Samsung has officially unveiled One UI 9 at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London. The Android 17-based update comes pre-installed on the new Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 and the public rollout begins in the first week of August 2026. The One UI 9 Beta has also been running on the Galaxy S26 series since May. If you are wondering whether your Galaxy phone or tablet will get the upgrade, here is the full list of One UI 9 eligible devices along with the expected rollout timeline.
Samsung One UI 9 Eligible Devices
The Galaxy S26 series was the first to receive One UI 9 Beta through the Samsung Members app. The beta programme started on May 13 in six countries including India and the S26 series is already on Beta 4.
Now that the stable build is shipping on the new foldables, the Galaxy S26 series will be the first existing devices to get the update, followed by the Galaxy S25 and S24 series. The Galaxy S23 series, mid-range A-series and tablets will follow towards the end of 2026.
Keep in mind that Samsung has not officially confirmed the eligible devices list for One UI 9 yet and it did not publish a rollout timeline at the Unpacked event either. The below list is based on Samsung's update policy. Latest flagship phones are guaranteed to receive up to 7 major Android updates and mid-range or entry-level phones will get four to six years of updates.

The Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra ship with One UI 8.5 out of the box and have been running the One UI 9 Beta since May. Note that the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 FE will not get One UI 9. Both fall under Samsung's 4-year update policy and they will only receive the One UI 8.5 update based on Android 16. The 7-year update only came with the S24 series and onwards.
