Samsung's next Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S26 FE, is expected to launch in the next couple of months. Ahead of that, a new leak gives us an early look at the default Galaxy S26 FE wallpapers, along with traces of Samsung's upcoming One UI 9.5 update.
Galaxy S26 FE Wallpapers Leaked
The information comes via tech publication SamMobile, which managed to access leaked firmware details of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 FE. It revealed three default wallpapers in grey, green and lavender hues for the smartphone. Now, this also strongly suggests that the upcoming phone could arrive in these colourways.
Now, these wallpapers also bear a stark resemblance to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. This is consistent with how Samsung typically handles its FE lineup, sharing visual assets and design language with the mainline series. For instance, the Galaxy S25 FE used the same wallpaper assets as the Galaxy S25 lineup.

Speaking of consistency, Samsung also adapts the look of the "Galaxy S" series for the "Galaxy S FE" lineup. Earlier this year, a leaked Galaxy S26 FE design render revealed the same pill-shaped camera island design found on the other Galaxy S26 series phones.

Galaxy S26 FE Firmware Bears Traces of One UI 9.5
Moving on, another significant find buried in the leaked firmware is an updated One UI 9.5 software banner. It reveals details about the alleged One UI 9.5 visual identity, especially on the software update page.
The publication has also compared the redesigned look between One UI 8.5, One UI 9 and One UI 9.5. As is evident from the image below, One UI 8.5 (left) uses large circular shapes. Meanwhile, One UI 9 uses the same large visual elements, but they are placed to form the number "9".
As for One UI 9.5, the brand is reportedly ditching large circles for three large curved pink lines. They also have a gradient look, with colours ranging from light blue, deep blue, violet and pink. Since reports claim Samsung is already working on One UI 9.5, this could be an early indication of the visual UI and UC the brand has planned for its major software release.
However, Galaxy S26 FE is not expected to ship with One UI 9.5. Samsung recently released One UI 9 and the only phones running the software are the Galaxy S26 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
Hence, One UI 9 itself is relatively new and the Galaxy S26 FE could run on One UI 9 out of the box instead of One UI 9.5.
That said, Samsung has not officially revealed details about the Galaxy S26 FE. Current speculations hint at a late August or early September 2026 launch window for the smartphone. Hence, we should start hearing official details closer to the release window. So, stay tuned.
