Summary

  • OnePlus is reportedly prepping the upcoming OnePlus 15 with a 1.5K 165 Hz display.
  • It is also said to bring a new Moon Rock Black colourway along with a sandstone magnetic protective case.
  • Other leaked details include the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, a LIPO AMOLED panel and a 7,000mAh battery.

OnePlus' next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, is already in the works. It is expected to go official by early 2026. Ahead of that, a new report hints at the display specifications of the smartphone.

Leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) has revealed via Weibo that the yet-to-be-launched OnePlus 15 will reportedly bring a 165 Hz refresh rate along with a 1.5K resolution panel.

As per the latest leak, the upcoming OnePlus 15 will also likely be able to deliver 165 Hz FPS during gaming natively. This is something that we saw first with the newly launched iQOO Z10 Turbo+, which arrived in China with 144 Hz FPS native support in Valorant mobile.

Additionally, DCS claims that OnePlus is going to use a new "performance engine" to achieve the same. We believe that this is something that will be similar to the dedicated Q2 gaming chipset that iQOO used in the Z10 Turbo+. However, since the post has been converted from Chinese to English, it could be lost in translation.

Apart from this, the post also mentions a new Moon Rock Black colour option for the device. Although the tipster doesn't explicitly mention all these details to be that of the OnePlus 15, the mention of a "sandstone" magnetic protective case gives it away, which has been a top-tier case for the brand's flagship number series. The new sandstone-textured magnetic charging case hints at support for wireless charging and the existence of first-party accessories.

That's all that the current DCS post has managed to reveal about the OnePlus 15. However, the same tipster earlier claimed a new camera module design for the OnePlus 15. It is said to retire the familiar top-left circular camera deco for a rectangle-shaped camera island, similar to that of the OnePlus 13s.

Speaking of cameras, the smartphone is still expected to feature a triple optics setup with a 50 MP periscope telephoto sensor, a 50 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide angle camera.

An earlier DCS claim also suggested the use of the LIPO (Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) display technology for the smartphone's panel. At the time of writing, we do not know if it is going to be quad-curved or flat.

Lastly, we expect the smartphone to draw its power from the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor and work in tandem with a 7,000mAh cell with up to 100W fast USB-C charging support.

With that said, since these are all leaks right now, take them with a pinch of salt. We will be sure to report on anything official here at Beebom Gadgets.
