It has not even been two months since the OnePlus 15 debuted and we are already hearing things about next year's OnePlus 16. The latest OnePlus flagship debuted a lot of firsts for the brand. However, it looks like the next phone will take it up a notch with impressive camera hardware.
OnePlus 16 tipped to get a 200 MP camera
A new Weibo post from popular leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) suggests that the OnePlus 16 could very well blow fans' minds with a 200 MP rear camera. At the time of writing, it is unclear whether this behemoth of a megapixel will make its way via the main camera or the periscope lens.

To recall, the OnePlus 15 offers a triple rear camera setup with a 50 MP Sony IMX906 main camera, a 50 MP Samsung JN5 3.5x periscope telephoto and a 50 MP Samsung OVD50D ultra-wide module. So, a 200 MP jump with the next-gen model will not only bring a major hardware upgrade, but it will also ring good bells for the software.
One of the biggest updates with the OnePlus 15 is the debut of the brand's in-house DetailMax Engine, which has replaced the four-year-old camera partner Hasselblad. So, a capable and advanced camera hardware will also help OnePlus better tune its software algorithms to make the OnePlus 16 one of the camera phone contenders of 2026.
That said, since this is the first leak for the OnePlus 16, take this with a pinch of salt. If OnePlus follows its usual October launch window, we are not going to see the next OnePlus flagship emerge before the next nine months. So, there is still plenty of time for more concrete details to surface.
