Earlier this week, Oppo teased ColorOS 16.1 and now, the brand has revealed the official roadmap for the update. Starting with comprehensive testing later this month, Oppo is expected to bring new features and optimisations as a part of the update, which will roll out from May 2026.
ColorOS 16.1 Beta and Stable Release Windows are Here
The official ColorOS Weibo account posted a slew of new posts detailing the ColorOS 16.1 Beta testing, followed by a comprehensive list of features coming soon. Besides, one of the posts also highlights the rollout schedule of the stable version, revealing all the ColorOS 16.1 supported devices.

Going by the official ColorOS 16.1 rollout schedule announcement posts, beta registration will be open for just two days from April 16 through April 17, 2026, midnight. Users who are eager to test the new software can submit their interest by going to Settings > System & Updates > Software Update. Then they will need to go to Apply for Early Access > Beta Test Card and hit Apply Now.
For this initial testing phase, Oppo is limiting participation to a few flagships. The only phones eligible for ColorOS 16.1 Beta are the Oppo Find X9 series and the OnePlus 15. Once the window closes, the ColorOS team will review applications from April 18 to April 24, 2026, and the update will start seeding from April 21, 2026.
The official ColorOS 16.1 rollout will kick off starting May 10, 2026, while the second batch will start getting the update from May 21, 2026. Here's the list of all ColorOS 16.1 eligible devices:

As for the ColorOS 16.1 features, Oppo has already revealed that the latest update will bring a new Lock Screen Island alongside more seamless animations and immersive transitions. Besides, the release will also include AI features like one-click flash memory.
With the China release timeline now set, global rollout dates should also be announced very soon. These features should also make their way to the global OxygenOS 16.1 release on OnePlus smartphones, which should come out in the next few months. Until then, stay tuned.
