Oppo has commenced the rollout of the stable ColorOS 17 update on the Oppo Find X8 series. The update is rolling out to users in India and other Asian markets, bringing a host of features and improving the experience.
Oppo Find X8 Update to Expand to Other Countries Soon
Announced via the official Oppo Community forums, ColorOS 17 is rolling out to the Oppo Find X8 in India, Malaysia and Indonesia. Carrying the October security patch, this Android 17-based firmware, CPH2651_17.0.0.121, is hitting all eligible smartphones in a staggered way.

Therefore, its initial availability will be limited to a select group of users before expanding to more devices and potentially more regions such as North America, Europe and Singapore. To qualify for this, users must be running the base firmware version CPH2651_16.0.10.500(EX01).
With that out of the way, the update brings a major user interface redesign thanks to a Liquid Acrylic Design language. The UI adopts a more translucent theme, like Apple's Liquid Glass interface, with subtle lighting elements and rounded corners across menus.
Besides, the Luminious Rendering Engine promises to eliminate system lag, boost multitasking responsiveness and provide smoother app launches.
Other ColorOS 17 features include newly added lock screen customisations, always-on settings and refreshed stock apps that take the experience to the next level, as we noted when we tried out ColorOS 17.

Additionally, there are new AI features, including smart summaries, a better writing assistant and more advanced photo manipulation tools. Owners of the Find X8 series can go to Settings -> System & update -> Software update to check for new updates and install them.
If Stable is unavailable, users can tap on the top right -> Beta Program -> Release Candidate and check for a new update. It's advised that users back up their important data and charge their phones to at least 50% before initiating the update process.
With the Oppo Find X8 out of the way, Oppo can now focus on rolling it out to more ColorOS 17-eligible devices. The rollout is expected to last throughout Q1 2027, so stay tuned.
