It's been a few weeks since the Oppo Find X9 Ultra dropped and fans have already started tinkering around with one of the most advanced camera phones to ever exist. However, aside from the camera craze, popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything, aka Zack Nelson, known for pushing smartphones to their limits, decided to push the Find X9 Ultra to its limits. He was pleasantly surprised when the phone managed to pass every level of durability test with flying colours.
Oppo Find X9 Ultra Passes Every Test with Ease
As is the case with Zack, he started his video by putting the Oppo Find X9 Ultra through his customary tests to show how well it holds up in extreme conditions. It managed to show expected scratch resistance with the display scratching at level 6 on the Mohs scale, with deeper grooves at level 7.
It matched the resistance level of Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Moving to the sides, the YouTuber was able to confirm aluminium for both the frame and the buttons on the Find X9 Ultra. It showed visible scratch marks, which are expected when damaged using a sharp object. However, when flipped to the back, Zack was surprised to learn it is made up of plastic rather than the usual glass or metal.
He notes that while smartphones like the Find X9 Ultra usually opt for glass or metal to justify the premium price tag, it is usually best with plastic since it is much more durable and shatter-proof than glass. It even extends to the dual LED flash and the side curvature of the Find X9 Ultra's camera module. However, the lenses are protected under a layer of glass.
Zack then proceeds with the screen burn test, which shows the display lasting under an active flame for up to 25 seconds before recovering without any permanent damage. Lastly, during the most anticipated bend and force test, it becomes evident that the Find X9 Ultra is built like a tank.
It refuses to bend or snap in half despite Zack putting efforts from both the back and the front. The Find X9 Ultra manages to hold its structural integrity together despite Zack thinking that the massive camera module and antenna lines near it will create a visible fault line. Hence, it becomes clear that Oppo has not only made a camera phone but it has also heavily invested in its durability.
Even during the teardown process, Zack didn't have much difficulty opening the phone since the back was made of plastic, which made it fairly easy to remove. Now, while removing the battery, he needed Isopropyl to weaken the adhesive holding down the battery; he did mention it is fairly easy to remove.
Lastly, he also gave us a glimpse at the Find X9 Ultra motherboard and the sensor shift 10x periscope camera that the Find X9 Ultra comes with. Overall, he concluded his video by confirming that the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is a durable beast.
That said, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra India launch has already been teased and we are waiting to get our hands on the smartphone. It is going to compete directly with the Vivo X300 Ultra and is sure to wow fans with cameras and durability alike.
