Just hours ago, the Android 17-based OriginOS 7 update launched in China and Vivo is already bringing the Android 17-based update closer to Indian users. iQOO India has opened registrations for the OriginOS 7 Preview Program for the iQOO 15, giving a limited number of users an early look at the company's latest software overhaul.

The official iQOO India X account has confirmed that iQOO 15 users are eligible to sign up for the OriginOS 7 Preview Program, running from September 16 to September 20, 2026.

This gives iQOO 15 users roughly 4 days to apply for the beta update. Moreover, only 500 slots are available for the OriginOS 7 Preview Program. Users will first need to update their iQOO 15 to the latest software version available.

iQOO also confirmed that the OriginOS 7 release is part of a closed beta and can carry bugs, break app compatibility and affect battery life.

To enrol in the OriginOS 7 closed beta update, iQOO 15 users will need to apply by going to Settings -> System Update -> 3-dot menu -> Upcoming Updates -> Closed Beta Sign-Up.

OriginOS 7 Features

Vivo officially unveiled OriginOS 7 at its developer conference in China earlier today and the biggest highlight of the new OS is its Liquid Glass-style revamp.

The new Premium Texture engine brings three blur styles: Realistic, Natural and Soft. Realistic delivers the full translucent glass look, while the other two are frosted blurs.

OriginOS 7 also brings interactive wallpapers and lock screens. A new Wiggle animation adds a liquid, wobbly physics effect to parts of a wallpaper, with users able to draw the affected areas manually or use presets.

Flip Cards shuffles through album photos when the phone is tilted, and Glint alters background lighting based on device movement. iQOO and Vivo phones will also get a rebuilt Control Centre, with an option for a customisable panel where users can reorganise tiles, resize individual Quick Settings and apply custom themes.

Also, OriginOS 7 is bringing Atomic Workbench to slab Vivo and iQOO phones. This will let users dock multiple active apps along the screen edges. There is also a redesigned OriginPlayer, which brings full-screen lock screen media controls to supported audio apps beyond Tencent's QQ Music.

Rest, there are also new AI features like an AI file manager, AI Calendar management, smart speaker labelling in the Recorder app, AI-powered health suggestions based on user habits, and an AI-powered dictation input method.
