Poco is gearing up to launch the Poco M8 Pro 5G early next year, with a fresh leak now confirming key specifications and its Redmi origins. According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the upcoming Poco smartphone is essentially a rebranded Redmi Note 15 Pro+, though with one notable hardware change.
Poco M8 Pro Expected Specifications and Features
Sharing exclusive details on X, Yadav claims that Poco has swapped the Redmi Note 15 Pro+'s 200 MP periscope telephoto camera for a 50 MP primary camera on the M8 Pro. While the tipster claims to have access to images of the phone, they were not shared publicly to protect the source's privacy.
However, thanks to folks over at German tech publication WinFuture, we have early Poco M8 and M8 Pro renders. The renders showcase the phone in a blue, black and grey colour and from the looks of it, it seems like the tipster is right.

In terms of specifications, the Poco M8 Pro 5G is said to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone will be a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The phone is expected to run disappointingly on Android 15 based on HyperOS 2, but it shall be a part of the HyperOS 3 supported devices list.
On the camera front, the Poco M8 Pro is said to arrive with a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. At the front, there will be a 32 MP selfie shooter as well. Battery life looks to be a major highlight with the upcoming phone tipped to pack a 6,500mAh unit with 100W fast charging.
Additional features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an IR blaster and an IP68 rating.
While Poco has yet to officially confirm launch timelines, the leak points to a January launch window. So, expect to see more concrete details appear closer to the official announcement.
