Qualcomm's next generation of mobile silicon has surfaced in leaked, revealing the core specifications. As countless previous reports suggested about the existence of a Pro variant, the new leaks confirm the same and beyond, including the specifications, including a potential successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series will be based on 2nm process
The new details arrive courtesy of Digital Chat Station on Weibo, who posted about two specific Qualcomm processors – the SM8950 and the SM8975. The former could be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the latter could be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Both will reportedly be manufactured on TSMC's 2nm process, and will share a 2+2+3 core architecture.

The Pro variant is clearly designed to flex more GPU and memory power. It is tipped to feature an Adreno 850 GPU with 18 MB of GMEM, 8 MB LLC and notably support for next-generation LPDDR6 RAM in a 4x24 configuration, in addition to LPDDR5X RAM.
In contrast, the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 steps down slightly. It is listed with an Adreno 845 GPU with 12 MB of GMEM, standard LPDDR5X (4x16) support and a smaller 6 MB LLC.

Interestingly, the tipster also shed light on the non-Elite lineup when one of the comments asked about the same. When asked about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6, DCS confirmed its existence but noted that the specifications aren't very promising. This suggests Qualcomm might heavily prioritise the Elite branding, leaving the standard 8 Gen series as a notably stepped-down option, like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
Previous details about the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series rumours suggested the Pro version could arrive with Heat Path Block cooling, the same technology first used in the Exynos 2600. A recent leak also suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 could be reserved for Ultra flagships.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 series is expected to arrive in September 2026, during the Snapdragon Summit. More information about the same will be revealed as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
