The Realme GT 8 Pro is slated for an October 2025 launch in China, and while the Xiaomi 17 series beat it to be the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered devices in China, Realme may win the race in India at least.
Realme's Head of Product Marketing Francis Wong posted an image on X, suggesting the upcoming Realme GT 8 Pro will be the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered device in India.

The image doesn't reveal the exact launch date of the device, but does say it's "Coming Soon". Besides, it valiantly displays the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5's AnTuTu score, which is expected to surpass 4 million points.
The Realme GT 8 series could consist of two devices – Realme GT 8 and Realme GT 8 Pro. The latter is expected to be a flagship offering, with all eyes being on its 200 MP periscope snapper. It's expected to arrive with 3x optical zoom alongside 12x lossless zoom.

Besides, the GT 8 Pro could feature a 2K 144Hz AMOLED panel with up to 7,000 nits of peak brightness. Powering the internals could be a 7,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging. The user experience is also expected to get improvements with better haptics, louder and clearer stereo speakers and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
With the China launch date still in the fog, we cannot deduce or predict a solid India launch date yet. However, the Realme GT 7 Pro launched on November 26, 2024, so we could expect the GT 8 Pro to launch around the same time, if not sooner. We will follow the launch date and any new details that pop up before launch. Until then, stay tuned.
