Realme Neo 8 will feature world's first 165 Hz Samsung Sky M14 display

The Realme China website is now updated with the launch date of the Realme Neo 8 along with its display details. The brand held a dedicated event on January 12, 2026 to reveal the display details of the smartphone. It has collaborated with Samsung to bring the industry's first Samsung Sky M14 display to the table.

The new display technology has been built on the existing Samsung ultra-luminous 2K Everest OLED M14 panel, which we first saw with the iQOO 15. However, the M14 Sky variant is a step-up on many fronts. For instance, Realme claims that Neo 8's display will be able to improve luminous efficiency by up to 26%.

It will support 165 Hz refresh rate and can achieve a staggering 6,000 nits of peak brightness. The panel is 16% more efficient when compared to a 144 Hz screen, all the while increasing the pixel lifespan by up to 50%.

Moreover, Neo 8 will support 165 Hz continuous frame rate in games like Free Fire and POBA. It can even achieve 103% DCI-P3 colour gamut and intelligently toggle the colour temperature based on the scenario.

Realme is using a dedicated Magic Touch chip inside the Neo 8 to achieve a 3,800 Hz touch sampling rate, 360 Hz ten-finger touch sampling rate and an improvement in touch response by up to 8ms.

So, it is clear that with the upcoming phone Realme is going all in on the display. It has even given the Neo 8 a gameresque makeover with a semi-transparent back panel, an electric Purple hue and a unique LED strip light.

The smartphone is also confirmed to rock the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and is also expected to gain a 6.71-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display, Realme UI 7.0, dual 50 MP rear cameras and a 7,200mAh battery.
