RedMagic has officially taken the wraps off its newest gaming powerhouse in China. Debuting with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a high refresh-rate display, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ positions itself as the best gaming phone users can buy without blowing a fortune.
RedMagic 12 Pro+ Specifications and Features
Starting with the design of the RedMagic 12 Pro+, it's akin to its predecessor, with a circular RGB ring at the back housing the phone's ICE liquid cooling system. There are touch-responsive triggers on either side for gaming, a power button on the right and volume buttons on the left. The right also houses a red-accented custom button.
There are two lenses at the back that sit flush with the panel, alongside a RedMagic logo enclosed in a blue rectangle. The front is seamless without a notch thanks to the in-display fingerprint scanner.
Speaking of which, the display is a 6.85-inch BOE X11 OLED panel. The screen delivers a crisp 2,688x1,216 resolution at an 185 Hz refresh rate, 5,000 nits of peak brightness, and seamless 0.96 mm borders.
Driving the performance is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, flanked by dedicated RedCore R5 gaming and G1 display chips. It is backed by LPDDR5T RAM alongside UFS 4.1 Pro storage for 2K super-resolution frame interpolation up to 185 fps in supported titles.
To keep thermals in check and deliver sustained performance, the device incorporates an upgraded ICE cooling system featuring a liquid chamber and an internal 25,500 RPM fan. The fan is rated IPX8 for water resistance, and despite the openings for Air inlet, the chassis itself has IP68 and IP69 durability.
Optics-wise, the phone combines a 50 MP OIS snapper combined with a 50 MP ultrawide sensor. At the front is a 16 MP under-display camera handling selfie duties.
Powering the internals is an 8,400mAh battery with 120W fast charging, 80W wireless charging and bypass charging support. Hardcore gamers also get 700 Hz shoulder touch triggers, dual linear speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The RedMagic 12 Pro+'s base 12 GB + 256 GB variant costs 6,999 Chinese yuan (approx. Rs 99,000), while the 16 GB + 512 GB and 16 GB + 1 TB variants cost 7,999 and 8,999 Chinese yuan (approx. Rs 1,14,000 and Rs 1,28,000).
