The Redmi K90 is expected to launch in China soon. While the brand has not officially confirmed anything yet, the rumour mill now suggests that it could be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phone to arrive in the market.
Tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) believes that Redmi will make the K90 and K90 Pro official by the end of October 2025, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

This makes sense since the mobile processor is expected to debut alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and is said to share almost the same peripherals. It is still going to be an octa-core processor with an Adreno GPU and a 3 nm process. Here's everything we expect the upcoming SoC to offer:
- TSMC-built 3 nm process
- 2nd-gen Oryon CPU
- 2x Oryon V2 Phoenix L cores @ 4.32 GHz and 6x Oryon V2 Phoenix M cores @ 3.53 GHz
- Adreno 830 GPU
- SME (Scalable Matrix Extension) instruction set for on-device AI
Hence, it is clearly evident that the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor will be capable enough to deliver a true 8-series flagship experience. So, expect the smartphone to go official at the Snapdragon Summit on September 23, 2025 and debut with the Redmi K90 smartphone.

- Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner
That said, since these are all speculative details at the time of writing, take them with a hint of salt. We will be sure to report on official details as and when Redmi confirms them.
