Keep in mind that Xiaomi has only shared months, not exact dates. The rollout also happens in stages, so it may take a few weeks for the update to reach every phone in each phase. Moreover, the Android 17-based update is quite big, at more than 8 GB if you are moving from stable HyperOS 3.
That said, once the update is available for your phone, here’s how you can download it:
- Open Settings and tap About phone.
- Tap the HyperOS version card.
- Tap Check for updates and install HyperOS 4 if it’s available.
Make sure your phone has enough storage and is charged above 50% before installing the update. This is the global schedule, so the timing in India may differ a little.
Xiaomi hasn’t shared a separate India rollout plan yet but they could reveal that soon, too. So, stay tuned for all the updates.
