While Xiaomi or Redmi is yet to release an official statement regarding the price increase, we already know the reason. As the memory crisis continues to progression, smartphone prices keep rising daily. Just recently, the Realme 16 series received a price hike, which was preceded by the OnePlus 15R price increase and the Nord 6 and Nord CE 6 price hike.

That said, if you are planning to buy a new phone, we will suggest you either make a purchase soon or wait till 2027 to see how the RAM crisis decelerates. While relief is not expected to arrive before 2029, its wise to hold off purchases for longer duration.
