The ongoing RAM crisis hasn't been forgiving for the smartphone industry, with newer generation models launching at inflated price tags and older phones getting price hikes. OnePlus is no exception and has quietly increased the prices of the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R in India. The revision is already in effect across official channels and begs to ask the question: are all OnePlus phones going to meet the same fate?

OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R Price in India Hiked by up to Rs 6,000

We noticed that the OnePlus 15 has received the steepest hike, with its top-end 16 GB + 512 GB variant now priced at Rs 85,999. Meanwhile, the base 12 GB + 256 GB model's price has also gone up, now retailing at Rs 77,999

For reference, the OnePlus 15 launched in India for Rs 72,999 and Rs 79,999 for the respective variants. So, the revised prices bring a hike of Rs 5,000 for the base variant and Rs 6,000 for the top model, which is quite exorbitant.

Meanwhile, the OnePlus 15R price in India now starts at Rs 52,999 for the base 12 GB + 256 GB variant. The top 12 GB + 512 GB variant of the phone costs Rs 57,999. Do note that this is the second OnePlus 15R price hike in the country.

Originally, the OnePlus 15R launched in India for Rs 47,999 and Rs 49,999, respectively. Later on, these prices were hiked to Rs 50,499 and Rs 55,499, which is already an inflation of up to Rs 6,000. Now, the newer prices add another Rs 2,500 hike on top of it, making the 15R quite pricey.

However, despite the hikes, OnePlus is currently offering a limited-time bank discount of up to Rs 3,000 on the OnePlus 15 and Rs 2,000 on the 15R, slightly softening the blow for buyers. But even with these offers, the effective prices remain higher than at launch, indicating a clear upward pricing trajectory during the crisis.

Now, are these two phones worth getting at their current hiked prices? We'll simply lead you to our dedicated OnePlus 15 review, OnePlus 15R review and let you be the judge of that.

The bigger question is, will the newly launched OnePlus Nord 6 and other phones also see a price hike in the coming days? Moreover, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 series launch date in India is also confirmed for next week. So, will the upcoming phones also meet the same fate at a later date? Only time will tell.

However, OnePlus is not alone in hiking prices. Several smartphone makers have increased the prices of both flagship and mid-range phones in India recently. For consumers, this means timing purchases is becoming increasingly important.

With the OnePlus Nord 6 still at its launch price, for now, buyers may want to act sooner rather than later if they are considering an upgrade within the OnePlus ecosystem. In case you're having doubts, you can always take a look at our dedicated OnePlus Nord 6 review to get a better idea.
