Redmi is set to launch the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max in India on September 15, according to well-known tipster Yogesh Brar. The report claims the two Pro models will combine some of the largest batteries in the mid-range segment. However, there will be a sharp jump in price over the Redmi Note 15 Pro series. Xiaomi has not confirmed the date, so treat this leak as speculative.
What the Redmi Note 17 Pro Series Could Offer
Both phones have already been unveiled outside India. The Redmi Note 17 Pro debuted in China in July while the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max arrived as part of the global launch on August 27.
Going by those models, the Redmi Note 17 Pro features a 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz flat OLED display and the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. The notable addition is a 9,000mAh battery with 67W wired charging support. It also packs a 50MP main camera and a 16MP selfie shooter.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max keeps the 6.83-inch 120Hz OLED screen but brings the more powerful Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor. Battery capacity is 10,000mAh with 100W fast charging, while the cameras include a 50MP primary sensor and a 32MP front camera.
Both phones are also expected to ship with a four-year OS update promise and six years of security patches. Do keep in mind that Indian models often differ from their China and global versions, so battery sizes and other specs could still change, according to the leaked specs of the global Redmi Note 17 series.

A Steeper Price Tag in India
The report claims Redmi will charge at least Rs 8,000 more for the Redmi Note 17 Pro series than it did for the Redmi Note 15 Pro series. That earlier series started at Rs 29,999 in India in January, which would push the new Pro models into a bracket well above what this range usually occupies.
By the way, the standard Redmi Note 17 5G is already on sale in India for Rs 27,999 with an 8,000mAh battery as its main selling point. The Pro lineup will now complete the lineup. Expect pricing and availability to become clear around the September 15 launch.
