After a bunch of teasers and updates, Redmi has finally launched the Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max in China as performance-centric smartphones. This is the first "Max" branded phone of Redmi's Turbo family and is fitted with a new Dimensity processor, a massive battery and a fast and big display. We already have a Redmi Turbo 5 launch copy in place, so we'll only focus on the Turbo 5 Max here.
Redmi Turbo 5 Max Specifications and Features
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max flaunts a 6.83-inch 1.5K flat 10-bit OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The panel also boasts Dolby Vision support and 3,840 Hz PWM Dimming frequency.
The screen is encased inside an impressively sleek 8.15mm body that weighs only 218 grams. It is impressive considering that Redmi has managed to house a substantial 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W fast USB-C charging.

For power, the Turbo 5 Max relies on MediaTek's latest Dimensity 9500 chipset. It is paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 16-based HyperOS 3.0 update.
Photography-wise, the smartphone relies on a dual camera setup with a 50 MP LightFusion 600 main sensor and an 8 MP ultra-wide angle lens. There is also a 20 MP Omnivision OV20B selfie shooter. In terms of video, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max can shoot up to 4K @ 60 FPS videos from the back cameras. The front is limited to 1080p @60 FPS.

Apart from that, the phone features a quad IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K rating. It also gains an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, an infrared sensor, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, dual SIM 5G, GPS, NFC and more.
As for the pricing, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max starts in China from 2,499 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 33,000) for the base 12 GB + 256 GB model. There are three other variants and the top-end 16 GB + 512 GB configuration costs 3,099 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 41,000). Interested folks can choose from Sun Orange, Shadow Black, Sea Breeze Blue and Auspicious Cloud White colourways.
