Samsung's budget Galaxy A17 5G has been making rounds of the rumour mill for quite some time now. The latest information, however, strongly suggests that the device could launch in India as early as this month.
First spotted by SammyGuru, the Samsung seems to have opened up pre-registrations for the Galaxy A17 5G in India. It's on this pre-registration website that Samsung hints at the launch of a "new Galaxy A series launch" on August 29, 2025.

While the brand doesn't explicitly mention the device's name to be the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G, the publication dug deeper to find the "Galaxy A1x" hint in the teaser image's metadata.
Apart from that, a while back, a leak revealed the Galaxy A17 5G promo materials, which showcased the device's design and revealed some key specs.
Over a week ago, tipster Abhishek Yadav also leaked the pricing of the device in India. As per the tipster, the budget phone could start at Rs 18,999 for the base 6 GB + 128 GB variant. Further, the 8 GB + 128 GB and the 8 GB + 256 GB variants could be priced at Rs 20,499 and Rs 23,499, respectively.

Apart from this, the device was launched in Taiwan earlier this month, revealing all the key specifications. Here's a quick rundown:
- 6.7-inch FHD+ 90 Hz Super AMOLED display
- Gorilla Glass 7
- 7.5mm thickness, 192 grams
- Samsung Exynos 1330 chipset
- Up to 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage
- 50 MP primary rear camera lens with OIS, 5 MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lens
- 13 MP selfie shooter
- 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging
- Circle to Search and Google Gemini integration
Besides, a while back, the Galaxy A17 5G's promotional materials surfaced online, which revealed the device's design. It also suggested that the phone could arrive with a compatible 25W charger in the box in India.

If true, it will be quite the surprise, since Samsung stopped bundling a charger with its mid-range and flagship devices a while ago. Even the predecessor, Galaxy A16 5G, didn't come with one.
With that said, since the phone is up for pre-registration already in the country, expect the brand to officially announce the launch date in the coming days.
