Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy A27 5G as the latest addition to its Galaxy A-series. Building on last year's Galaxy A26 5G, the new phone brings a slightly more refined design, a Snapdragon chipset and the same long software update promise.
Samsung Galaxy A27 5G Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy A27 retains the Galaxy A26's 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. However, it moves from its predecessor's water-drop notch to a punch-hole display design and offers narrower bezels for a more immersive viewing experience. The device is also slightly thicker at 7.8mm, compared to the last generation's 7.7mm thickness.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A27 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, replacing the Exynos 1380 chipset used in the previous generation. It is paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, and supports microSD card expansion of up to 2 TB.
On the software front, the phone runs on Android 16-based One UI 8.5 update out of the box. Most importantly, just like the Galaxy A26, the A27 also comes with six years of Android OS updates and security patches. The phone also includes Samsung Knox Vault for hardware-backed security.
The Galaxy A27 5G also arrives with a slew of AI features, like Circle to Search, Object Eraser and more. Users can also choose between Google Gemini, Perplexity and Bixby as their AI assistant, with deeper integration across Samsung apps like Gallery.
For photos and videos, the Samsung Galaxy A27 5G features the same 50 MP primary camera with OIS and 2 MP macro shooter, but downgrades to a 5 MP ultra-wide camera from an 8 MP shooter on the Galaxy A26 5G.

At the front, Samsung has shifted to a 12 MP shooter from a 13 MP lens on the last generation to a 12 MP lens. This isn't essentially a downgrade, since Samsung says that this front camera "captures a wider range of brightness and richer colours, resulting in more natural-looking selfies in a variety of lighting conditions," hinting at a larger aperture and better optimisation.
However, Samsung has downgraded from an IP67 to an IP64 rating on the Galaxy A27. But the phone packs the same 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast wired charging.
Samsung Galaxy A27 5G Availability
The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G will go on sale in select global markets from July 3, 2026. It will be available in Black, Blue, Light Green and Light Pink colourways. The company has not yet announced the phone's pricing or India availability.
