Summary

  • Samsung Galaxy A57's display panel is reportedly being made by CSOT, a Chinese display manufacturer.
  • The panel is said to be a rigid OLED instead of the flexible OLED that Samsung uses.
  • Galaxy A57 expected specs include Exynos 1680 chip, 50 MP main camera and 5,000mAh battery.

With 2025 coming to an end, it looks like the first Samsung phone of 2026 is a budget offering. Rumours about the Galaxy A57 have been floating around for quite sometime recently. Now, a new report has offered some interesting insights into the smartphone's display panel.

Samsung Galaxy A57 will reportedly feature CSOT's rigid OLED display

As per a new report shared by South Korean tech publication The ELEC, Samsung is apparently turning to Chinese display manufacturer CSOT for the Galaxy A57 display. If true, this will become the first "Galaxy A" series smartphone to launch without a Samsung-made display.

Since 2020, ever since the Galaxy A3 debuted, the South Korean brand has been using its own S-AMOLED display for the lineup. So, a shift to CSOT might indicate that Samsung is planning to reserve its flexible AMOLED panels for the premium segment only.

This is because the report claims that CSOT will be responsible for providing rigid OLED panels for the Galaxy A57. This means that it will be impossible for the upcoming phone to feature even and uniform bezels throughout. It could down the line, become the key differentiating factor between the "Galaxy S" series and other Galaxy lineup smartphones.

This, in a way, will bring a downgraded experience since the Galaxy A56 5G uses a flexible AMOLED panel and offers slim and uniform bezels. So, with the next generation going backwards in display tech is concerning for future models as well.

As for the other specs, a previous report revealed that the camera hardware on the smartphone is getting an upgrade. It is said to comprise a 50 MP Sony IMX906 or Samsung SK5GNJ sensor, a 13 MP Samsung S5K3L6 ultra-wide angle sensor and a 5 MP  GalaxyCore macro lens.

That said, the Galaxy A57 is tipped to launch sometime in February 2026. It is expected to bear the Exynos 1680 chip and could run One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 out of the box.
