For the past few years, Samsung has been making headways with its suite of Galaxy AI features. And for the longest part, they have remained free for use. However, it might change soon.
As per South Korean publication DealSite, Samsung is reportedly in the final stage of its Galaxy AI subscription model. And it might get announced as soon as next month.
With the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 9, 2025, expect the South Korean consumer electronics brand to unveil, or at least tease, the arrival of its subscription model for Galaxy AI.

This does not come as a surprise since Samsung has been hinting at the end of the free run for Galaxy AI for a long time now. Since the release of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, the brand has been adding a disclaimer at the bottom of its product pages stating, "Galaxy AI features will be provided for free until the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices."
You can find the same disclaimer on the latest Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge product page as well. However, no official confirmation on the same has been made by Samsung. Back in July 2024, Samsung shared some details on the same.
We will provide the Galaxy AI function for free until the end of 2025. After that, we will decide after comprehensively considering customer demands and business conditions.

So, if we go by the 2025 end timeline, Samsung is very likely to make the paid Galaxy AI tier live with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series in January 2026. However, there is a silver lining to this.
The report also indicates that while the paywall introduction is imminent, it won't apply to the suite of Galaxy AI features in its entirety. Only the advanced AI features like AI video generation will be made paid.

The rest of them, like Circle to Search, Now Brief, Live Translation, and more, will remain free for use. However, as of now, nothing is confirmed yet. But we are sure that Samsung will announce something, or the other by the end of 2025. Else, we are waiting for the Galaxy Z Fold series Unpacked event, scheduled to happen in a few weeks.
