The Galaxy S26 series is only a few months away, and Samsung is still in its last moment existential crisis meltdown. From a reshuffled Galaxy lineup to an entire product allegedly getting cancelled, the leaks and rumours have been all over the place. Now, the latest report has done its part in adding more confusion to the chaos.
Galaxy S26 Edge is not getting discontinued, yet
As per Dutch-based tech publication GalaxyClub, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge, once believed to be dead, is apparently still alive and breathing. Their latest post claims that Samsung has been developing a "More Slim" smartphone for quite some time now, and the South Korean brand has no intention of scraping it entirely.

For context, the Galaxy S25 Edge was codenamed "Slim" internally. Hence, if we connect the dots, the More Slim moniker is likely assigned to the previously discontinued Galaxy S26 Edge. The interesting bit here is that this smartphone will not be part of the Galaxy S26 trio, launching in February or March 2026.
In fact, GalaxyClub has stated that this new model will arrive much later, probably by the mid or end of 2026 and will hopefully carry forward the "Edge" legacy. So, if we were to put this massively jumbled puzzle together, our take will be that the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup will carry the usual "Galaxy S" series suspects – Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

However, the 2026 slim phone model from Samsung will see a standalone launch in the later part of the new year. This will mean that the Galaxy S26 Edge is yet to be shelved completely. Honestly, at this point, it is too hard to tell.
Unless and until an official confirmation is made, take this new revelation with a pinch of salt. If we were to go by what Newspim officially stated a few weeks later, Samsung executives themselves broke the news of the S26 Edge's discontinuation to the tech publication. So, if there was any change in the decision recently, it has not been officially conveyed yet.

Moreover, we know how Samsung has a habit of following Apple's footsteps. It recently came to light that even Apple is thinking of shelving the iPhone Air successor next year. So, if there is no iPhone Air in 2026, there might not be a Galaxy S26 Edge as well. Only time will tell what will surface out of this mess. Till then, make sure to follow Beebom Gadgets for the latest development around the upcoming Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
