Summary

  • A new leak suggests that the Galaxy S26 Edge will be 5.5mm thick while packing a 4,200mAh battery.
  • This makes it 0.3mm thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge while offering 300mAh more battery capacity.
  • The device will be as thin as the iPhone 17 Air, which is rumoured to pack a 2,900mAh battery.

Thanks to several leaks and reports at this point, it's no surprise that Samsung is working to improve its "Edge" formula. A new leak now suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge could be one of the slimmest phones in recent history while not skimping (that much) on battery life.

A week or so ago, a leak revealed that the Galaxy S26 Edge would pack a 4,200mAh battery. Now, noted leaker IceUniverse took to X to reveal that the device will be just 5.5mm thin while packing the said capacity.

That makes the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge 0.3mm thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge's 5.8mm thickness. Not to mention that, if the latest leak turns out to be true, it will be as thin as the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, while packing more battery capacity. For reference, as per leaks, the iPhone 17 Air is said to pack a 2,900mAh battery.

However, some rumours also hint at the iPhone 17 Air being around 5.65mm thick, which would understandably give the Galaxy S26 Edge a bigger advantage. Well, looks like paper thin phones are the next step forward.

For now, this is all that is known about Samsung's next Edge. However, given how the leak faucet has only turned on and the launch is still a while away, expect to hear more details surface in the coming days.
