Summary
- Fresh Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra leak points to improved low-light photography.
- The smartphone is said to gain a wider aperture for the main and telephoto cameras for higher light intake.
- Other expected specs of the Galaxy S26 Ultra include Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 5,000mAh battery and 60W charging.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be Samsung's next big flagship, and as the launch date nears, more and more leaks are surfacing online. The latest one talks about the camera improvements, specifically the low light performance of the smartphone.
Galaxy S26 Ultra could deliver meaningful aperture upgrade
The information comes directly from X user Ahmed Qwaider, who claims that Samsung is going to fit the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a wider aperture. The upgrade will reportedly arrive for the 200 MP main camera as well as the 5x telephoto camera. His post mentions an f/2.9 aperture for the primary camera and an f/1.4 aperture for the telephoto lens.

For context, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has an f/3.4 aperture 200 MP main camera and an f/1.7 aperture telephoto unit. Hence, it is clear that the upcoming phone will bring a considerable step-up from the last gen. This is particularly important since a wider aperture directly translates to better light intake.
It not only means a higher photo and video quality, but also improved low-light performance. It will help the Galaxy S26 Ultra shine in tricky dark situations with brighter footage and reduced noise levels.

Moreover, the effects of this change will also be felt during daytime shots. Portrait images from the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be able to achieve a higher level of natural blur and improve the overall edge detection. So, it will be interesting to see how well the 2026 Ultra fares against the competition.
As for the other details, thanks to previous leaks, we already know that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is getting 60W fast charging. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and could boast a 6.89-inch 2K 120 Hz 2x AMOLED LTPO display.
That said, Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event is reportedly scheduled for February 2026. Alongside the Ultra, the standard Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ are also going to debut. So, it will be interesting to see what the brand has in store for us this year. We will keep you posted on the latest developments.
