Just a day after the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series global launch, the South Korean company has brought its premium tablets to India. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Tab S12+ bring a new 3nm Dimensity 9500 chip, Android 17 and a very slim body, and they go on sale in the country next week.

The two tablets differ mainly in size. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the Tab S12+ has a 12.6-inch panel with slimmer bezels than its predecessor. Both run at an adaptive 120 Hz and reach up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness. There's also a Vision Booster feature, which adjusts brightness in real time to suit the lighting around you.
Audio gets a boost too, with four-channel spatial audio that doubles the channels of the previous generation. An ergonomic S Pen is included for productivity purposes.
They're also very slim. The Tab S12 Ultra is just 5.1mm thick, making it Samsung's thinnest Galaxy Tab and the Tab S12+ comes in at 5.3mm. Despite that, both carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Samsung has also added a redesigned 3D Vapour Chamber to keep temperatures in check during heavy work like video editing or graphic design.
Both tablets use MediaTek's 3nm Dimensity 9500. Compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, Samsung says the new chipset offers up to 61% faster NPU performance, 19% faster CPU performance and 17% better GPU performance.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series runs on Android 17 with One UI 9 features and includes Galaxy AI features like Multi Window and Note Assist.
Battery life is rated at up to 23 hours on the Tab S12 Ultra and up to 21 hours on the Tab S12+. Both support 45W charging, which Samsung says can take them from 0 to 100% in about 95 minutes with a 45W adapter.

Buyers can get 15% off on Galaxy Buds 4 or Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, 30% off the Pro Keyboard Cover and no-cost EMI for up to 24 months. Samsung says these offers cannot be combined.
The Galaxy Tab S12 series goes on sale in India from October 7, 2026, in Grey and Silver colour options. You'll find it at Samsung Exclusive Stores, partner stores, Samsung.com and other online platforms.
With a flagship chipset, a razor-thin body and a hefty price, Samsung's new tablets are meant primarily for people who want a super portable laptop alternative. The offers might take some of the sting out of the cost, but this is still a premium pick and from what we're seeing, a worthy one at that.
