Lately, the one thing that we have all been hearing is "price hike". At this point, every major Android OEM has increased the prices of its existing phones and launched new ones at a steeper MSP. Even Apple pulled retail iPhone incentives in India. So far, India has been the most affected market due to the RAM crisis and now seismic effects are being felt in countries like China and South Korea.

Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy S25 Edge Will Now Cost More in South Korea

An exclusive report from South Korean publication Newsway has revealed that several flagship Samsung Galaxy phones are set to receive a price revision, starting from April 1, 2026, that is, today. The affected models include the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy S25 Edge.

However, this price hike will not be uniform across all RAM and storage models and will only affect the 512 GB and 1 TB storage options. For context, all three phones start with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Hence, as per the report, users willing to purchase any of the three phones will still be able to enjoy regluar and launch pricing for the base RAM and storage option.

As for those opting for higher storage, they will now have to pay 1,00,000 South Korean won (approximately Rs 6,500) extra for 512 GB and 2,00,000 South Korean won (approximately Rs 12,500) extra for 1 TB.

Now, while we do not know exactly why Samsung is taking this split price hike decision, it could be because of the lower margin in higher storage and RAM options and the current high acquisition cost for them. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy S25 Edge ship with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Hence, to offset the costs, Samsung will need to increase prices for higher storage and RAM variants to reach breakeven profits.

That said, currently this price revision is limited to South Korea and could reach international markets like India and the USA in the coming months. However, there is no confirmation on that front yet and we will make sure to report on any change in price of Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy S25 Edge prices in India.
