Samsung is expected to release the fourth beta version of One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 QPR2 for the Galaxy S25 series sometime this week. However, ahead of the official rollout, new details have emerged revealing the firmware version of the upcoming update, alongside specific bugs that have been addressed.
One UI 8.5 fixes small bugs and updates Bixby
According to tipster Tarun Vats on X, the upcoming One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 series will carry the firmware version ZZAB. The leak reveals the changelog of the upcoming update, highlighting the improvements in terms of stability and usability.

Starting with Bixby, the update will install a new version of Samsung's home-grown assistant. While more information about this is unclear, this "new version" could be the Perplexity-powered Bixby that was said to be coming soon. If not, this new version could be a base for the new Bixby, with the stable update bringing all the bells and whistles.
Besides, Samsung has fixed an issue where users were unable to tap on the search history within the phone app. There are fixes to Bluetooth as well, where calls would unexpectedly switch from Bluetooth to the device's earpiece. A keypad glitch where users were facing trouble pasting phone numbers after clicking a call link has also been fixed.

Lastly, Samsung's AI select feature had a bug where the tool would not automatically close after the user chose Copy. Well, that has been fixed, too. It's clear that this update is more about refinements and bug fixes than new features, and could be one of the last Beta updates before Samsung pushes the final One UI 8.5 public release.
One UI 8.5 is expected to be released after Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event. Scheduled for February 25, 2026, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 series. The smartphones will come with One UI 8.5 out of the box, and the Galaxy S25 and S24 series users will get it first, followed by Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 and the rest of the One UI 8.5 supported smartphones.
