Ahead of its official debut expected in the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung has officially released the fourth beta of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 series users in India. While this update is identified as Beta 5 in global markets like the US and Korea, it arrives as the fourth beta for Indian users who joined the program slightly later.
One UI 8.5 Beta could be the final Beta update
Spotted first by Tarun Vats on X, One UI 8.5 Beta 4 is now rolling out to Indian users, and Beta 5 is being seeded to Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra users in the US, Korea, Germany and the UK. The new firmware, ending in ZZAN, weighs approximately 553 MB.

The size and the lacklustre changelog suggest this update leans more toward polishing the experience than dumping brand-new features. The headline feature of this update is a newly optimised version of Bixby. This lines up with the previously leaked One UI 8.5 Beta 4 changelog, which also mentioned improvements to Bixby.
This improvement likely refers to Samsung prepping to add a more conversational and contextual Bixby experience powered by Perplexity. This was leaked a few weeks ago by Galaxy Techie, and could extend Bixby's use cases way beyond a traditional home control assistant. Besides, the assistant could also get a visual redesign.

Perplexity-powered Bixby should first debut on the Galaxy S26 series, which is expected to arrive with One UI 8.5 out of the box. Additionally, the update integrates the February 5, 2026 security patch, ensuring phones are protected against the latest vulnerabilities.
With the Beta rolling out, this could very well be the last One UI 8.5 Beta update before the stable release sometime next month. Users participating in the beta program can download the update by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
Once the Galaxy S26 series hits the shelves, the stable version of One UI 8.5 is expected to roll out to the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series alongside Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 shortly after.
