Samsung is finally rolling out One UI 9.0 stable to Galaxy S26 series after five months of rigorous testing. The update builds on top of Android 17 and brings a host of new features, customisations and UI improvements over One UI 8.5.
One UI 9.0 is making its way to the Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphones in South Korea, bearing firmware version S94XNKSU4BZ16. For users transitioning from the Beta program, the OTA package weighs in at a modest 550 MB and brings the latest September 2026 security patch.
While Samsung hasn't shared details about other countries yet, the global rollout should commence this week, provided everything goes according to plan. Once rolled out, users can update their phones by going to Settings > Software update and tapping on Check for updates.
Those using the Galaxy S25 series are expected to get the stable update later this month, followed by the Galaxy S24 series at the start of next month. The Galaxy S24 series recently got One UI 9.0 Beta 2, which means Samsung has rolled out two betas for each series.
We've detailed all the One UI 9 features, but here's a brief rundown of new key features on the Galaxy S26 series:
- Gemini Intelligence & Notebook: Gemini Intelligence can natively process multi-step tasks from a single prompt, while Gemini Notebook acts as a unified workspace that instantly converts dropped files, audio, and images into comprehensive visual summaries.
- Smarter Now Nudge: Now Nudge analyses on-screen chats to suggest app shortcuts, like instantly pulling up Google Maps if you are texting about a meetup location.
- My FanCam & Media Upgrades: My FanCam isolates and tracks a single subject in a wide, crowded video. The system media player has been completely redesigned with a fluid, colour-matching seek bar, and Samsung Notes has gained a clever digital "Tape" tool for quickly redacting sensitive text in screenshots.
Most of these upgrades are expected to make it to older One UI 9.0-eligible smartphones, including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Fold 6 and more. Samsung should soon release a comprehensive release schedule for the update as One UI 9 starts seeding globally. Until then, stay tuned.
