Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta 2 Rollout for Galaxy S25 Series Officially Kicks Off in India

After finally making the One UI 8.5 Beta update official in India, Samsung has now started to seed the second beta update of the new Android 16-based One UI skin. As part of this new update, most of the features introduced with the first beta are being carried over to the second build with some bug fixes as well.

One UI 8.5 Beta 2 update rollout begins in India

The One UI 8.5 beta 2 update is currently rolling out to the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra users in India. We were able to spot the update on our Galaxy S25 unit and were able to enrol and download the update. It is close to 4 GB in size and bears the S938BXXU7ZYLH version number.

After the update, users will be able to set new 3D-style app icons, add transparency effects and unlock deeper customisation options for the lock screen and Quick Settings panel. The update has also added blurred effects and new clock face styles to the lock screen. Also, speaking of the Quick panel, it is now fully customisable. Users can move tiles as per their liking. There are also new vertical and horizontal layouts for sliders and certain tiles.

Aside from customisation options, there are also new One UI 8.5 features in terms of Galaxy AI. The new Photo Assist update will now let users generate continuous images without needing to save the previous iteration. There are also new changes added to Meeting Assist, Touch Assistant, Social Composer and Smart Clipboard.

Apart from that, the One UI 8.5 Beta 2 update has carried forward the same privacy and security features of the first One UI 8.1 beta. A new auto-blur sensitive content feature is now live, called Privacy Protection. It intelligently removes information from the share sheet to help users hide sensitive data from their photos, like metadata, location and more, before sharing.  

That said, to install the second One UI 8.5 Beta on your Galaxy S25 series smartphone, head over to Samsung Members > tap the One UI 8 Beta banner and enrol. Once you're enrolled, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to get the latest beta One UI 8.5 build.
