Vivo S50 Pro Mini with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and 6,500mAh Battery Launched

The Vivo S50 Pro Mini has gone official in China as a compact flagship, alongside the regular Vivo S50. At a time when most high-end phones continue to grow larger, Vivo is pitching the S50 Pro Mini as a no-compromise alternative for those who prefer a smaller form factor. Here are all the details. 

Vivo S50 Pro Mini Specifications and Features

The Vivo S50 Pro Mini features a 6.31-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. This panel is paired with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, while the overall build is IP68 and IP69-rated. Vivo is leaning heavily into design this year, giving the S50 Pro Mini an iPhone Air-like makeup featuring a similar horizontal camera layout in a slim, flat-edged profile. 

Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which Vivo positions as the core reason the S50 Pro Mini can rival full-sized flagships in the segment. The phone is offered in up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. On the software front, it runs on Android 16-based OriginOS 6 right out of the box.

Further, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini also features stereo speakers and an X-axis linear motor, rounding out the premium compact experience. Despite its smaller size, battery life is another area where Vivo has avoided compromise.

The S50 Pro Mini packs a large 6,500mAh unit with an aggressive 90W wired fast charging speed. In addition, Vivo has also thrown in 40W wireless charging into the mix, leaving barely any room for complaints.

On the imaging front, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini features a triple rear camera setup led by a 50 MP main lens with OIS. This primary shooter is joined by a 50 MP periscope telephoto with optical zoom and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, the phone comes with a 50 MP shooter at the front.

In China, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini starts at 3,699 Chinese Yuan (approximately Rs 47,500) for the base 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant. The phone is already up for pre-orders on the official Vivo China store and comes in the Purple, Black and White colour options.
