Vivo's V series is getting a big power-up. The Vivo V80 has launched in India with the largest battery ever on a V-series phone, a 144 Hz 1.5K AMOLED display and a ZEISS-tuned camera system with a 50 MP telephoto. 

Vivo V80 Specifications and Features

The Vivo V80 has a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 2750 x 1260 resolution, a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and a pixel density of 459 PPI. It reaches 5,000 nits of local peak brightness and 1,800 nits in HBM mode, drops as low as 1 nit in dark rooms and supports HDR10+ and 1.07 billion colours.

The bezels are as thin as 1.25mm, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor sits under the screen. Vivo says it works with wet or dirty fingers. You also get dual stereo speakers to round out the multimedia experience.

The phone has a glass back with a cold-carved unibody finish, an aluminium alloy frame and a "floating" camera module. It measures 7.69mm in thickness and weighs 203 grams.

It's also rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water protection. The Vivo V80 also carries SGS whole-device drop-resistance certification.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset with an octa-core CPU (one core at 2.8 GHz, four at 2.4 GHz and three at 1.8 GHz). Vivo says it supports 90, 120 and 144 FPS gaming and cooling comes from a 4,300 mm² system.

It has 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, with up to 16 GB of virtual RAM expansion. Storage can't be expanded. 

On the camera front, the Vivo V80 has a 50 MP ZEISS OIS main camera with a Sony LYTIA 700V sensor (1/1.56-inch, f/1.88). Next to it is a 50 MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor (1/1.95-inch, OIS, f/2.65), 3x optical zoom and up to 100x zoom.

An 8 MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2, 115°) rounds out the back, with an Aura Light fill light with dual colour temperatures. The front camera is a 50 MP ZEISS Group Selfie camera with autofocus, a 92° field of view and 0.8x to 2x zoom.

ZEISS Multifocal Portrait mimics five classic lenses with their own bokeh styles: 23mm Distagon, 35mm B-Speed, 50mm Biotar, 85mm Sonnar and 100mm Planar. There's also a 10x Zoom-In Portrait mode and video goes up to 4K @ 60 FPS, with a 4K Cinematic Video mode offering Modern Movie, Vibrant and Pastel styles.

AI features include AI Creative Camera with 30+ styles, AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, AI Retouch, Color Palette and Live Sticker Collage.

The Vivo V80 packs a big 7,200mAh battery, which uses fourth-gen silicon carbon anode technology and charges at 90W.

The V80 runs OriginOS 7 on Android 17, and vivo promises 6 years of security updates. Software highlights include Wiggle Theme, Snap Note (which turns whiteboard and handwritten notes into PPTs, tables and charts) and One Connected Experience for linking with Apple devices.
