2026 is shaping up to be a monumental year for folding phones with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8 and Z Fold Wide and Apple's first foldable. However, there's another folding phone that is expected to steal the limelight and that is the Vivo X Fold 6. It is launching soon in China and key details about the phone have surfaced online.
Vivo X Fold 6 Could Launch in China This Month
According to Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, the upcoming Vivo X Fold 6 foldable smartphone is tentatively scheduled to launch as early as June 2026. It is tipped to arrive by the end of this month and at launch, could rival the Oppo Find N6.
The biggest shift this time could be the use of the Dimensity 9500 chipset instead of the previously rumoured Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This is because, so far, every folding phone that Vivo has launched has carried a Qualcomm SoC.

Last year's Vivo X Fold 5 featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Hence, a shift to MediaTek for choice of SoC is a big move and the X Fold 6 could end up being the first Dimensity 9500-powered folding phone in the world.
Moreover, the leaker also claims that the phone will bring a 7,000mAh battery upgrade with the main camera moving to a 200 MP sensor and a 50 MP periscope camera. Vivo is also said to be making it as thin and lightweight as the predecessor, while also keeping the familiar large circular camera deco.

Also, in a previously leaked Vivo X Fold 6 report, DCS revealed an 8.02-inch 2K Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) folding display and a 6.53-inch cover glass for the smartphone. It is also said to bring a 20 MP front and rear screen cameras, a 50 MP ultra-wide angle sensor, wireless charging support and full water resistance support.
That said, with no official word on the X Fold 6 yet, it is best to take these info with a pinch of salt. Since the phone is said to launch this month itself, we should hear concrete details shortly. So, stay tuned.
