Vivo has launched the Y6k (V2542A) in China as the newest addition to its budget 5G lineup. The phone is priced affordably and its highlights include a 6,500mAh battery, a 120 Hz display and Android 16 out of the box.
Vivo Y6k Specifications and Features
The Vivo Y6k features a 6.74-inch LCD with an HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Vivo claims it can reach up to 1,200 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode. The selfie camera sits in a waterdrop-style notch.

Under the hood, the phone runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300, an octa-core chipset clocked at up to 2.4GHz. It’s paired with 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which should be enough for everyday tasks like browsing, social media and video streaming.
The Vivo Y6k packs a 6,500mAh battery with 15W wired charging. Vivo claims the battery will retain its performance for up to five years.
For photos, the phone has a 13 MP rear camera, even though the back panel has two vertically stacked camera rings, along with a 5 MP front camera.

The phone runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6 features. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, face unlock, an IR blaster for controlling home appliances and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
It also comes with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, along with SGS five-star drop-resistance certification.

Vivo Y6k Pricing and Availability
The phone is priced at 1,599 Chinese yuan (approx. Rs 23,000) for its sole 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant.
The Vivo Y6k comes in Blue, White and Black colours, and Vivo hasn’t announced plans to launch it in India or other global markets yet.
The Y6k’s 6,500mAh battery is modest by Vivo’s recent standards. The brand has been pushing battery capacity hard this year, with the Vivo Y600 packing a 10,000mAh battery and the Vivo Y600 Pro launching with an even bigger 10,200mAh capacity.
Even the recently announced Vivo Y32 5G went official with a bigger 8,000mAh cell with 44W charging.
However, its IP65 rating, drop resistance and five-year battery health claim, though, suggest Vivo is targeting buyers who care more about durability than specs on paper. Especially for the price that it comes in.
