Xiaomi has started showing off its next phone, the Xiaomi 17 Max, besides revealing its launch date, scheduled for later in April 2026. The new teasers reveal the phone's design and highlight all the major hardware upgrades over the standard Xiaomi 17, including a bigger battery, a larger screen and more.
Xiaomi 17 Max Design and Display Revealed
Earlier today, Xiaomi revealed via its official Weibo post the design of its upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max. While the post does not reveal the exact release date, it confirms the phone's arrival in China this month. The launch date post was followed by another post, which revealed the key specifications of the smartphone, including its bigger battery and display.

The brand has confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 Max will feature a 6.9-inch flat screen with minimal bezels. While the exact display specs are unknown, rumours point to a 1.5K LTPO OLED 120 Hz panel. Unlike the Xiaomi 17, the back of the phone has a smooth and rounded camera module.
While the rest of the Xiaomi 17 Max is similar to the vanilla Xiaomi 17, the brand has confirmed that it will arrive in new colours – Blue, Black and White. Some models may also feature premium materials like Ceramic or Carbon Fibre.

That said, Xiaomi claims that the 17 Max brings a handful of upgrades over the standard Xiaomi 17 rather than being a scaled-up version. The phone is also expected to feature better water resistance, better dual speakers and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Speaking of which, the Xiaomi 17 Max is also expected to feature a bigger 8,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The processor is being retained, i.e., the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
As for the cameras, the main unit is expected to be a 200 MP snapper alongside a secondary 50 MP ultrawide lens with a 50 MP 3x periscope telephoto snapper. All the cameras will be powered by Leica and Xiaomi's co-creation partnership. More information about the Xiaomi 17 Max should be revealed as we inch closer to the supposed launch this month, so stay tuned.
