Xiaomi 17 Gets a Generous Price Drop in India

For buyers who've been holding off on buying a Xiaomi 17 or any compact flagship smartphone, their patience might have just paid off. Xiaomi is making its premium compact flagship a bit easier on the wallet as the smartphone has received its first-ever price cut in the subcontinent. 

Xiaomi 17 Price in India Slashed

Xiaomi's official India X handle posted that interested buyers can now grab the Xiaomi 17 for Rs 82,999. That's a solid Rs 7,000 off from its original starting price of Rs 89,999. It's worth noting that this offer can be availed through the credit cards of select banks and on EMI. The offer is applicable only for the 12 GB + 512 GB variant.

The offer is currently available on Xiaomi's official storefront and Amazon India. For those unaware, Xiaomi 17 launched in India back in March 2026, shortly after its global debut at MWC 2026. It was launched exclusively via Amazon India.

As for its specifications, the Xiaomi 17 features a compact form factor with a 6.3-inch 1.5K LTPO 120 Hz 12-bit OLED panel with up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The display is HDR10+ and Dolby Vision certified and is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass.

Powering the internals is the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with up to 12 GB LPDDR5X storage and 512 GB UFS 4.1 storage. Optics-wise, the primary is a 50 MP Light Fusion 950 Leica snapper, while the secondary is a 50 MP Leica 60 mm telephoto lens. The ultrawide and the front are both 50 MP units.

Fuelling the internals is a 6,330mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone also has an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The phone boasts an IP68 rating for protection against water and dust and runs HyperOS 3 on the software front with a promise of four years of major updates.

The asking price of Rs 82,999 makes it a pretty compelling deal for those looking for a great compact flagship with the best performance in the business. Xiaomi hasn't stated if this will be a temporary discount. Therefore, this could be a permanent price cut for the phone.
