Xiaomi's next flagship foldable has been the talk of the town lately, thanks to some real-world images of the Xiaomi 18 Fold that started making rounds on the internet recently. Well, the brand has now officially opened the Xiaomi 18 Fold pre-reservations in China, giving buyers their first chance to register interest ahead of its launch.
A dedicated landing page for the Xiaomi 18 Fold pre-reservations has gone live on the China Mi.com website. We see a teaser image here, which confirms that the Xiaomi 18 Fold's cameras have been co-engineered with Leica.
This continues the partnership Xiaomi has maintained across its flagship lineup for the past few years. The listing also confirms the Xiaomi 18 Fold will ship with Xiaomi HyperOS (HyperOS 4 most likely), the company's in-house software skin, right out of the box. This isn't particularly surprising given HyperOS now powers Xiaomi's entire smartphone lineup, but it's a nice piece of official confirmation nonetheless.
Those who pre-reserve the foldable for 9.9 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 140) will also be eligible to get free headphones worth 569 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 8,000) at launch.
True to Xiaomi's usual teaser playbook, the actual foldable remains hidden in a retail box, which is concealed under a red cloth in the promotional image, revealing nothing about its design beyond its general silhouette.
Thanks to the leaked Xiaomi 18 Fold real-life images, we know that the foldable could arrive with a wide foldable format like the Huawei Pura X Max, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the upcoming iPhone Ultra. The foldable is expected to come in a dark red colourway and sport triple rear cameras.
Apart from that, the brand has already confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Fold will be powered by its in-house XRING O3 chipset. For now, that's all we know about the brand's upcoming wide foldable.
With pre-reservations now open, Xiaomi is clearly building momentum ahead of a more detailed reveal. The company hasn't confirmed an exact launch date yet, but the Xiaomi 18 Fold is still expected to debut sometime in September 2026.
