If you thought the megapixel wars were over, Xiaomi is here to prove you wrong. With most manufacturers trying to standardise 200 MP cameras, Xiaomi appears to have joined the race with leaks suggesting the Xiaomi 18 Pro might feature not one but two 200 MP cameras.
Xiaomi 18 Pro could get the Ultra treatment
According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is trickling down the 200 MP cameras found in the Ultra variant to the Xiaomi 18 Pro series. The Pro smartphone reportedly sports a compact 6.3-inch display, meaning Xiaomi could somehow cram two massive 200 MP snappers into a phone that almost fits in the hand.

Although Xiaomi isn't the first manufacturer to fit two 200 MP cameras in a phone. Oppo is rumoured to be doing the same in its upcoming Find X9s series. The Find X9s was recently announced at the MediaTek Tech Day event and could arrive with two 200 MP cameras in a compact body alongside the Dimensity 9500s.
Besides cameras, rumours also point towards Xiaomi retaining the secondary display from the Xiaomi 17 Pro for another generation. While we don't have more information about the specs, the entire lineup is expected to run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

The Ultra model is expected to get the souped-up Pro variant of the chip. It is rumoured to be based on TSMC's latest 2nm process. More information about the processor is currently unknown.
As for the camera setup, it's pretty much given that one 200 MP snapper could be the main snapper while the other could power the phone's Periscope Telephoto capabilities. The name of these sensors is unknown, but they're rumoured to be Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensors.
The Xiaomi 18 series could stick to the Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max could arrive later this year, in September or October 2026. The Xiaomi 18 Ultra, on the other hand, will arrive much later, probably in December 2026 or January 2027 in China.
