After HyperOS 2.0, it is time for Xiaomi to welcome HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16. The brand has officially lifted the curtain on the arrival date of its latest HyperOS iteration.

The official Xiaomi Weibo account has confirmed that the HyperOS 3 release date has been set for August 28, 2025. It will be unveiled at a dedicated Xiaomi software event in China at 15:00 CST (or 12:30 PM IST).

The next HyperOS update is expected to bring noticeable improvements over Hyper OS 2.0. These include an upgraded animation system and smooth visual effects, improved system responsiveness, a mature UI and an overall optimised user experience.

It is also expected to carry some of Android 16's core features like Advanced Protection Mode, Live Updates, Material 3 Expressive, improved predictive back gestures and search in photo picker.

Commenting on the launch, Lu Weibing, Xiaomi Group Partner, President and President of the Mobile Phone Division, said that the HyperOS 3 update has kept user experience and feedback at the heart of its UI.

Xiaomi Surge OS 3 is a new starting point. Making the system ‘smooth’ is our goal. We want users to have a smooth and responsive experience, and a natural, continuous, and smooth feel. At the same time, the functional experience must be easy to use and intuitive to achieve both ease of use and satisfaction.

This is important since HyperOS 2.0 was not a major upgrade over HyperOS 1.0. Also, this is the first time Xiaomi is holding a dedicated event for an OS launch. Hence, we expect HyperOS 3.0 to be an actually major and significant upgrade for Xiaomi, Poco and Redmi smartphones.

Speaking of smartphones, the Xiaomi 15Xiaomi 15s ProXiaomi 15 Pro and Xiaomi 15 Ultra are already eligible for HyperOS 3 beta in China. In addition, tablets like the Xiaomi Pad 7 lineup are also eligible for the update.

Apart from these, there are a bunch of other HyperOS 3 supported devices, which include older budget, mid-range and flagship devices.

That said, we will be sure to cover the HyperOS 3.0 release right here at Beebom Gadgets. So, stay tuned to this space.
