Xiaomi last week teased the Xiaomi Pad 8 for India. Now, it has revealed when exactly the tablet will go official. The sequel to the popular Xiaomi Pad 7 is all set to launch in a few days with improved performance, a bigger battery and all-new accessories.
Xiaomi Pad 8 is launching in India later this week
The official Xiaomi India X handle has confirmed that the Xiaomi Pad 8 will launch in India on February 28, 2026 at 6:30 PM IST. It will be simultaneously unveiled for global markets at a dedicated launch event in Barcelona, Spain. The upcoming Android tablet is coming as part of the Xiaomi 17 series global debut.
Moreover, the Xiaomi Pad 8 landing page has also spilt some of the key details of the upcoming tablet. It is confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and features a massive 9,200mAh battery. Xiaomi claims this is the brand's thinnest and most powerful tablet ever.
The teaser page has revealed over 2 million AnTuTu score and upto 2 days worth of battery backup for the Pad 8. This makes sense since compared to the Xiaomi Pad 7's Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset and 8,850mAh battery, the newer model is definately more powerful and long lasting.
Also, launching alongside the tablet is the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro and the Focus Keyboard folio, with upgraded features over the Pad 7's keyboard case and stylus. While the Focus Pen Pro is said to bring a buttonless design, gesture control support and hightened sensitivity, the Focus Keyboard now comes with backlit keys and a precision trackpad.
Aside from that, not much is known about the Xiaomi Pad 8 for India. However, if this turns out to be the exact Pad 8 model that launched in China, it could also include an 11.2-inch 3.2K 144 Hz LCD display, HyperOS 3.0 support out of the box, 67W fast charging and USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port support.
That said, since the official unveiling is set for this Saturday, we shall know more details shortly. Also launching alongside the Pad 8 is the Xiaomi 17 series, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and a new Xiaomi Tag Tracker.
