The wait is over and Xiaomi has officially launched its Pad 8 series in China alongside the Xiaomi 17 series. The lineup brings the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro with flagship chipsets, productivity-centric features and more. With that said, here's a quick rundown of the complete specifications, pricing and availability details of the latest Xiaomi tablets.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Series features Snapdragon 8 series processors and 11.2-inch displays
The Pad 8 Pro leads the series with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. There's an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD display on top with a 144 Hz refresh rate, backed by Dolby Vision. This panel is also said to hit 800 nits of peak brightness. There's also a quad speaker setup tuned by Dolby Atmos to offer an immersive viewing experience.

For photos and videos, the Pro tablet from Xiaomi also offers a 50 MP primary rear camera and, at the front, a 32 MP selfie shooter.
Talking about battery, there's a massive 9,200mAh battery paired with a convenient 67W fast charging. Despite that, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro flaunts a 5.75mm thickness and weighs 485 grams.

Meanwhile, as for connectivity options, the tablet features Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and the usual. On the software front, the Pad 8 Pro runs on the latest HyperOS 3 update right out of the box.
The Xiaomi Pad 8, on the other hand, doesn't have anything special going for it and mostly shares the same specifications as the Pro model. But it's toned down in the sense that it is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 instead.
Additionally, the primary rear camera is a downgraded 13 MP lens, while the selfie shooter is an 8 MP lens. The charging speeds are also slower at 45W on the regular Pad 8 but that's about it.

In comparison to last year, the battery has gone up from 8,850mAh, which is good. Performance has also gone up from the Xiaomi Pad 7's Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and the Pad 7 Pro's Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. However, everything else remains mostly the same.
Xiaomi Pad 8 series is currently limited to China
The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro starts at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs 34,500) for the 8 GB + 128 GB variant. However, there are also the 8 GB + 256 GB, 12 GB + 256 GB, 12 GB + 512 GB and 16 GB + 512 GB variants to choose from.
On the other hand, the regular Pad 8 starts at CNY 2,199 (approximately Rs 23,500) for the 8 GB + 128 GB variant. Buyers can also choose from the 8 GB + 256 GB and 12 GB + 256 GB options.
Both the tablets are currently limited to China and can be purchased via the Xiaomi China website in the black, blue and green colourways.
Also, while the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro may not make it to India, going by the brand's track record, the Pad 8 could launch in India soon.
