Xiaomi has confirmed that it's entering the Bluetooth tracker market to rival Apple's AirTag. The brand has announced Xiaomi Tag, which will make its global debut alongside the Xiaomi 17 series, launching later this week.
Xiaomi Tag will be pretty lightweight and compact
Xiaomi's official X handle posted an image of the Tag in a white colourway. The post confirms it will weigh 10 grams and will be extremely compact in size. The tag is slated to launch on February 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM GMT (or 7:30 PM IST) in Barcelona.

While the post doesn't reveal any further information, leaks from a premature listing on the Xiaomi France website suggest the device will be 7.2mm thick and powered by a standard, user-replaceable CR2032 battery, the same found in the likes of the Moto Tag.
Besides, another surprising rumour is that the Tag could work on both Google's Find My Device and Apple's Find My network. Although the tag seemingly doesn't come with UWB support. Reports suggest that Xiaomi does plan to launch a UWB version in the future.
For those unaware, UWB stands for Ultrawide-band, which enables precision tracking and is found in both the Moto Tag and the Apple Tag. The lack thereof means users cannot precisely locate their goods or devices and have to rely on approximate location to find them.
More details about the exact specifications and pricing should be revealed during the launch. Although early rumours point to a 17.99 euros price tag (approximately Rs 2,000).
