There is no doubt that OnePlus has one of the best software skins with OxygenOS, which gets better with every update. However, since last year, the company has also added various cutting-edge AI capabilities integrated into the OS, such as MindSpace, AI Voicescribe, Gemini integration and more. These can help you organise, remember things intelligently and provide a lot of utility. That's why I've compiled a list of the best OnePlus AI features that you should definitely try if you own a OnePlus phone.
List of the Best OnePlus AI Features
OnePlus gradually introduced AI add-ons in OxygenOS 15 and expanded the features in the Oxygen OS 16 update. The latest features would be first available on flagship phones such as the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 13 series, with older and budget devices receiving them later. I've been using these on the OnePlus 15R on a daily basis since its launch, and here are the best OnePlus AI features I use the most.
OnePlus MindSpace
MindSpace was first introduced with the OnePlus 13s, which was the first OnePlus phone to get rid of the iconic alert slider. Instead, it was replaced with the "Plus key", which lets you snap a screenshot and uses on-device AI to analyse and categorise everything saved into MindSpace as a Memory, which can be accessed later for additional information.
The reason MindSpace is so helpful is that it acts as a central hub for everything you want to remember. Whether it is an important date, event, address, contact info, job description, task or anything else. It conveniently scans it, provides a brief AI summary and organises it with proper tags, making it easy to get back to. And you can also ask questions about your saved memories, too.
It sounds awfully similar to Nothing's Essential Space, which also captures on-screen content to provide context for it. But with OxygenOS 16, MindSpace got a significant upgrade, adding landscape mode support, smart collection suggestions, and a dedicated Mind Assistant for search within the app.
AI Voicescribe
AI VoiceScribe is one of the more practically useful tools in the OnePlus AI suite, particularly for anyone like me who frequently takes long calls or meetings. Why? It can record, summarise and translate calls and meetings. Once a call ends, it generates a clean post-call summary that pulls out the key details, so there is no need to take notes mid-conversation or try to remember what was discussed afterwards.
The best part is that it allows you to record calls on WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram, and other calling apps. Plus, it also offers to create AI summaries and live captions across multiple regional languages, including Hindi. This is what makes it one of the best OnePlus AI features, and it is available to all OxygenOS 16 eligible devices.
Google Gemini Integration with MindSpace
While this isn't a complete OnePlus AI feature, it is definitely something worth talking about. Starting with OxygenOS 16, MindSpace is directly integrated with Google's Gemini AI. This means that everything inside MindSpace, including long screenshots, voice memos, and notes, can be searched with Gemini.
So, if you have a screenshot of an event in MindSpace, you can ask Gemini to create a calendar event for you right from the chat. It works seamlessly and lets you ask queries about your saved content on Gemini without opening MindSpace on your OnePlus phone.
To set it up, open the Gemini app, go to Profile > Personal Intelligence > Connected Apps > MindSpace > Enable. Once done, type @Mind Space followed by a query inside Gemini to pull from saved content. It is worth noting that Gemini integration with MindSpace is currently limited to OnePlus flagship devices running OxygenOS 16.
AI Reflection Eraser
Anyone who has ever tried to photograph something through a glass window or a display case will understand that the shot might look fine in the moment but comes out covered in glare or reflections. That's where the OnePlus AI Reflection Eraser comes to save the day. It analyses the image, and wherever reflection and glare are visible, it uses AI to remove only unwanted portions from the photo.
It's truly one of my most used OnePlus AI features since I click a lot of photos. It minimises distractions and noise and is particularly useful for photos of documents, shopfront windows, or portraits of people wearing glasses. To use it, open the Photos app, select the image, tap Edit > AI Editor, and look for the Remove Reflections option.
AI Perfect Shot
AI Perfect Shot detects closed eyes or awkward expressions in group photos, allowing you to pick the best version of each face from a series of shots and combine them into a single, clean result. The feature swaps facial expressions across multiple photos to produce the best possible outcome, so even if nobody in the group managed to look their best, the final image can still look like they did.
Just like Reflection Eraser, this feature lives inside the Photos app rather than the camera itself. To use it, open a group photo in the Photos app, tap Edit, and look for the AI Perfect Shot option. It is available on OxygenOS 15 and above, though availability varies by device model.
AI Suggest Widget
The AI Suggest Widget is a smart option for anyone who doesn't like to clutter their home screen with grids of apps and widgets. It groups multiple useful widgets together that you can browse through, similar to One UI 7. It dynamically learns and recommends your most-used apps, so you don't have to frantically look for the one app you want to use.
It brings in the utility factor I was talking about in the intro, making things cleaner, easier and simpler for most OnePlus users.
AI Writer
The last best OnePlus AI feature that I want to mention is the AI Writer. It is a writing assistant, accessible from a floating window that appears above the keyboard. It can generate content for social media posts, improve existing writing, and create mind maps and tables from selected text. It is actually really helpful if you want to type out a quick message but change its tone or refine your text.
However, there is a big caveat with it. AI Writer currently only works with Instagram, WhatsApp, and Google Maps. Why Google Maps is supported and not any other messaging app is beyond me. That said, when it works, it works, and that is why it deserves a mention here.
Which Phones Support OnePlus AI Features?
OnePlus AI features like MindSpace, AI Perfect Shot, AI Reflection Eraser, and Gemini integration with MindSpace are available to all OxygenOS 15 and OxygenOS 16 eligible devices. This includes the OnePlus 11, OnePlus 12, OnePlus 13 and the OnePlus 15 family of devices.
As far as OnePlus Nord devices go, Nord 3, Nord 4, Nord 5, and Nord 6 have also received OnePlus AI features.
Meanwhile, only OnePlus 13s, OnePlus 15/15R, Nord 5, Nord 6, Nord CE5, and Nord CE6 are the only devices to feature a dedicated button to launch MindSpace.

It is good to see OnePlus pushing meaningful AI additions to its OS, instead of stuffing it with unnecessary fluff, and I hope it continues this practice going forward.
