MediaTek launched the Dimensity 8350 last year to cater to the mid-range Android market. OnePlus recently unveiled the Nord CE5 powered by the Dimensity 8350 processor. Now, how does the chipset perform in the mid-range segment? To find out, we have benchmarked the Dimensity 8350 on AnTuTu, Geekbench, 3DMark, and more. On that note, let's dive into the results.
Dimensity 8350 AnTuTu Score
AnTuTu V10 Benchmark | Score |
Dimensity 8350 AnTuTu V10 Score | 1,355,407 |
CPU | 283,540 |
GPU | 542,958 |
Memory | 264,163 |
UX | 264,746 |
Let's start with the AnTuTu benchmark. We tried to run the latest AnTuTu V11 benchmark on the OnePlus Nord CE5, but it kept crashing. So we ran the older AnTuTu V10 benchmark, and the Dimensity 8350 scored 1,355,407 points. The 8-core CPU achieved 283,540 points and the Arm Mali-G615 MC6 GPU got 542,958 points. Looking at the AnTuTu performance, the Dimensity 8350 looks like a mid-range chipset.
Dimensity 8350 Geekbench Score
Geekbench 6 CPU | Dimensity 8350 |
Single-core | 1,385 |
Multi-core | 4,310 |
Next, in the Geekbench 6 CPU test, the Dimensity 8350 (Apex, in this case) achieved 1,385 in single-core and 4,310 in multi-core. Since the Dimensity 8350 packs somewhat older Cortex-A715 and Cortex-A510 cores, the Dimensity 8350 delivers a respectable performance. However, MediaTek has clocked a single Cortex-A715 core at 3.35GHz which helps in delivering decent single-core performance.
Dimensity 8350 CPU Throttling Test
CPU Throttling Test | Dimensity 8350 |
Maximum Score | 292,521 GIPS |
Average Score | 271,459 GIPS |
Minimum Score | 242,792 GIPS |
Throttling Percentage (Higher is better) | 85% |
Now, coming to the CPU Throttling test, the Dimensity 8350 maintained an excellent throttling percentage of 85%. Even under extreme stress on all CPU cores, the chipset delivered impressive stability. In the 15-minute test, the CPU didn't see a sudden drop in performance. Only after 10 minutes, the CPU downclocked its frequency slightly.
Dimensity 8350 3DMark Score
3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test | Dimensity 8350 |
Best Loop Score | 3,252 |
Lowest Loop Score | 1,048 |
Stability | 32.2% |
Now to test the graphics performance, we ran the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress test on the Dimensity 8350. Here, it got the best loop score of 3,252 points and the lowest score of 1,048 points with a poor stability of 32.2%. While the Arm Mali-G615 MC6 GPU inside the Dimensity 8350 is decent, under sustained load, it quickly loses steam.
Dimensity 8350 | 3DMark Solar Bay | 3DMark Steel Nomad Light Stress |
Overall Score | 4,932 | 1,242 |
Now to test ray-tracing performance, we ran the 3DMark Solar Bay test and the Dimensity 8350 scored 4,932 points. And in the demanding 3DMark Steel Nomad Light Stress test, the Dimensity 8350 achieved 1,242 points. Again, for a mid-range chipset, the performance is good enough, but it doesn't do well over longer periods of intense gaming.
Dimensity 8350 Speedometer 3.0 Score
Finally, we ran the Speedometer 3.0 test on the Dimensity 8350 to see its performance on web browsers. Here, the Dimensity 8350 got 9.66 points which is good. It means that you will have a smooth and reliable web browsing experience with the Dimensity 8350.

Verdict
To conclude, the Dimensity 8350 (Apex, Extreme, Ultra or Ultimate) is a strictly mid-range chipset, offering decent CPU and GPU performance. While it offers good CPU performance and stability, the GPU fails to hold the peak performance over a longer period. I would say, if you get a phone under Rs. 20,000 or Rs. 25,000 featuring the Dimensity 8350, you can consider it, but don't expect powerful gaming experience over a longer period on the device.
