Apple Seeds iOS 26.2 Release Candidate 2 to Beta and Public Testers

After releasing the first Release Candidate update for iOS 26.2 last week, Apple has now started shipping the second Release Candidate (RC) of iOS 26.2, starting today. This new build is now rolling out to eligible iPhones and is available for both beta and public testers.

iOS 26.2 Release Candidate 2 carries over the RC 1 updates

The latest RC build comes just four days after the first iOS 26.2 Release Candidate was shipped to all the iOS 26-supported devices. So, with this second build, Apple has carried forward all the changes introduced with the first RC update.

For instance, the fine-tuned Apple Sleep Score measurement is also now live with the iOS 26.2 RC 2. Users will now see a new "Very High" rating in place of the old "Excellent" score. Every score range will also now realistically emulate the sleep patterns of humans.

The new AI update to Apple Podcasts is also now live with this update. Users will now be able to view AI-generated chapters and better reference linking for more personalised recommendations.

Also, the Reminder App now lets users trigger alarms and timers for urgent tasks by bypassing Focus Mode.

Design-wise, the iPhone lockscreen now supports a granular Liquid Glass slider which can precisely control the amount of tinting for each clock. A new pill-shaped popular links and topics section is also now live atop the Apple News homepage.

Lastly, the new language support for AirPods Live Translation is finally live in European Union (EU) countries.

That said, eligible beta and public testers can install iOS 26.2 Release Candidate 2 update by heading over to Settings> General> Software Update> Update Now. Alongside iOS 26.2, Apple is also expected to ship the general stable updates of iPadOS 26.2, macOS 26.2, watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2 and visionOS 26.2.
