Alongside the new iOS 27 stable update and the Siri AI rollout, Apple has also seeded the iOS 26.7 build, an upgrade over the iOS 26.6.2 update. While the new build doesn't bring anything new to the table, it does quietly ship a handful of security-focused changes and under-the-hood refinements to eligible iPhones.

iOS 26.7 Update for iPhones: What's New?

The official release note from Apple for iOS 26.7 reads: "This update provides security fixes for your iPhone." This means that, just like the iOS 26.6.2 update, the iOS 26.7 release is also system stability and improvements focused, rather than on new feature additions. Still, the update is 12.41 GB in size.

This makes sense since Apple typically gives users a few weeks before making a major new version of iOS the primary recommendation. While iPhone users are expected to switch to iOS 27 eventually, the iOS 26.7 update keeps iOS 26 eligible devices safe from security threats and vulnerabilities.

Apple has also shared the number of security fixes iOS 26.7 brings. iOS 26.7 patches over 80 vulnerabilities, with 75 fixes shared across iOS 26.6 and iOS 27. Among them are multiple kernel-level fixes, including one that could let a malicious app gain root access and another that allows Bluetooth remote code execution.

Aside from the count, three of the fixes are attributed to Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI Codex Security as recognised contributors. That said, the iOS 26.7 update is currently rolling out for those who are on the iPhone 11 or newer iPhones.

Users can download and install the new version by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update > Update Now. You can also follow our quick guide on how to install iOS 26 beta on your iPhone to make things easier.
