Apple broke tradition this year by launching only the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max first. The Cupertino giant is reportedly delaying the standard iPhone 18 launch until spring 2027, but that hasn't stopped leaks from surfacing. An alleged iPhone 18 dummy unit has now appeared online, offering an early look at a possible redesign.
iPhone 18 Could Get a Pro-Like Camera Bar
The alleged image of the iPhone 18 dummy unit was shared on X by an account called AppleBuu (@MajinBuofficia), and it shows a deep red, cherry-like colour with flat edges. The biggest change on the iPhone 18 appears to be its camera module design.
Instead of the vertical camera bump on the iPhone 17, the dummy has a full-width camera bar across the top, much like the iPhone 18 Pro. On the left, there are two large camera lenses stacked vertically.

On the right, there is what looks like the flash, a microphone hole and another sensor (possibly LiDAR). A MagSafe ring outline is also marked in the middle of the back panel.
If this is accurate, then Apple is likely making the standard iPhone 18 look very similar to the Pro models, bringing a continuous design identity across its smartphone portfolio. The image also strongly suggests that the iPhone 18 could feature a unibody aluminium with a colour-matched glass cutout at the back.

The iPhone 18 Dummy Unit Leak Has a Credibility Problem
Now, while the leaked dummy unit strongly suggests Apple is considering giving the base iPhone 18 a facelift, it might not be entirely accurate. This is because earlier this year, AppleInsider flagged an account that was seemingly impersonating the former leaker Majin Bu.

The report said the account reposts content taken from other leakers and has shared manipulated or AI-generated images of fake products before. Back in May 2026, that account also posted a fake iPhone 18 “colour leak”, which turned out to be photos of third-party camera protectors.
The handle behind the iPhone 18 dummy unit image, @MajinBuofficia, matches that description. So, it’s hard to say whether this dummy is real, a third-party concept or something else entirely. There’s also no other report backing up this design at the moment.
Hence, take this development with a pinch of salt and it's best to not draw early conclusions. What we do know is that the phone is very likely to feature the Apple A20 processor and attract a substantial price hike. If the iPhone 17 price hike was any indication, the iPhone 18 could start well above the $999 mark.
