It's not just the iPhones that have received price hikes in India, as Apple has quietly raised AppleCare+ pricing too.
New AppleCare+ Pricing for the iPhone 17
We looked up the new prices for AppleCare+ for our iPhone 17 and here's how they stack up against the older pricing:

- Monthly: Rs 999 (up from Rs 749)
- Annually: Rs 9,999 (up from Rs 7,499)
- 2 Years: Rs 19,900 (up from Rs 14,900)
AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss
- Monthly: Rs 1,399 (up from Rs 1,149)
- Annually: Rs 13,999 (up from Rs 11,499)
- 2 Years: Rs 27,900 (up from Rs 22,900)
AppleCare+ prices vary by device, so the plans for the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air and the newly launched iPhone 18 Pro series will each carry their own (likely higher) price tags.
The AppleCare+ hike lands right alongside a wave of iPhone price increases across Apple's India lineup. This has been triggered by the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro series and the company's first foldable, the iPhone Duo.
The standard iPhone 17 price hike has also gone live and it's significantly steep. Its base model used to start at Rs 82,900 and it now costs Rs 17,000 more, while the 512 GB storage variant has gone up by Rs 22,000. That puts the entry-level iPhone 17 at roughly Rs 99,900, with the 512GB version crossing the Rs 1 lakh mark.
The pricing shake-up isn't limited to the iPhone 17 either, as the iPhone 16 now starts at Rs 89,900, up from Rs 69,900, while the iPhone 17e has gone from Rs 64,900 to Rs 79,900. The iPhone Air saw the steepest revisions of all, with its 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB variants going up by Rs 47,000, Rs 35,000, and Rs 65,000, respectively.
Between higher iPhone prices and now costlier protection plans, buying into the iPhone ecosystem in India is getting noticeably more expensive across the board. The RAM crisis has really done us dirty.
So, if you're weighing whether to add AppleCare+ to a new iPhone 17, it's worth factoring in this price jump. Moreover, it's important that you double-check the AppleCare+ pricing for your specific model, since it won't be the same for every iPhone in the current lineup.
